Scottish Government Division
The Scottish Agricultural Science Agency was merged into the Scottish Government in April 2008 and is now a Division of the Scottish Government Agriculture and Rural Delivery Directorate. Following the merger,? the division was known as Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture until March 2019 when it was agreed that the name would change to simply SASA since the bulk of our work has been under the 'SASA'? banner since 1992.? SASA is a community of inspectors, policy professionals and scientists and our continuing purpose is to help support Scotland's arable and horticultural sectors, and the Scottish environment, by providing scientific advice and services, conducting inspections and developing policies on behalf of Scottish Ministers. SASA also continues to represent Scottish and, where appropriate, UK interests in national and international forums which call for scientific and technical input.
