Quality Assurance

It is the policy of SASA to provide and maintain a management system that includes a regime of continual improvement that incorporates good professional practice and quality into all aspects of its services.

The objectives of our management system are to:

  • Supply products and services that provide the Scottish Government and other customers with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that management and employees are committed to the requirements of both ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 17025:2017.
  • Develop and promote the scientific and technical competence needed to respond to customers requirements.
  • Generate a continually improving quality regime.

All staff are encouraged to take ownership of the management system and our Head of Quality Assurance audits and monitors the system ensuring its continued compliance with documented standards.

SASA is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for all its activities and accredited by UKAS to ISO 17025:2017 for a number of test methods used by the Chemistry Branch, the Plant Health Potato Quarantine Unit and Bacteriology Unit, Official Seed Testing Station for Scotland (OSTS),?Virology, and Wildlife Forensics Unit. The OSTS is also accredited by the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA).
